Russia invaded Ukraine and abused human rights by attacking civilian targets.
China suppported the Russian invasion of Ukraine and represses minorities.
The USA claimed Iraq had WMD prompting an invasion of Iraq and supports Israel.
Why is human rights a threat to the IRBO
Institutions aim to uphold the right to life, liberty and security of the person. Conventions ban genocide and protects non-combatants. The lack of an enforcer for these reduces their effectivenss.
How do the big three subvert treaties and declarations.
UNSC veto power is often used for self interest no to uphold human rights.
ICC lacks jurisdiction in these states and is reliant upon states to arrest people.
