ISR Flashcards
Arousal Hypopnea
1) 30% OR greater decrease of pressure transducer amplitude ( nasal cannula)
2) an arousal OR a 3% oxygen Desat is to be scored as Hypopnea
2. 2 % Desat but w/ Arousal can be scored
Arousals occipital / Central Region
Cortical arousal
As evidence by change in EEG sub cortical arousals as evidence of changes in the heart rate
Sub cortical ( not scored as arousal no EEG arousal)
Scoring arousals
Score during n1, n2, n3, R
If There is an abrupt shift of EEG frequency including alpha, theta and OR frequency greater than 16 HZ (but not Spindles)
Last at least 3 sec
W/ at least 10 sec of stable Sleep preceding the change
Scoring of an arousal during REM requires a concurrent increase in submental EMG Chin lasting at least 1 sec
Arousals May occurred during Stage W and may occur w/ Respiratory events
