- POLIO
- STAPHLYCOCCUS AUEREUS
single-client-use equipments = don’t clean and use on someone else
OTHER DRUG RESISTANT ORGANISMS
- USE PACKAGED PRE-MOISTENED CLOTHS CONTAINING CHLORHEXIDINE TO BATHE THE CLIENT or warm water with chlorhexidine
LINEZOLID
- indicated for VRE
- has MAOI properties so avoid SSRIs
- SSRIs can be resumed 24 hours after linezolid therapy has been discontinued
DROPLET ISOLATION
- hand hygiene
- mask (place surgical mask on client during transport)
- private room or cohort with same infection

- DIPHERTHIA (pharyngeal)
- Rubella
- RSV + contact precaution = use saline nose drops and suction the nares with bulb syringe prior to feeding

- Adenovirus
- Mumps
- Bacterial meningitis NOT VIRAL
- Haemophilus influenzae type B ( causes epiglottis)

GOWN AND GLOVES IF POTENTIAL CONTACT WITH BODILY FLUIDS
_**PRIVATE NEGATIVE ROOM PRESSURE IS ONLY FOR MTV (measles, tuberculosis, varicella)
- Tuberculosis = contact isolation are also used until vesicles are crusted
- Rubeola virus (measles)
- SARS
- Varicella virus (chickenpox)
- shingles (herpes zoster)
- small pox
- disseminated varicella Zoster Virus (VZV)
CONTACT ENTERIC
HANDWASHING.
- hand hygiene with soap and water
- C difficile ( BLEACH SOLUTION (CHLORINE) IS MOST EFFECTIVE AGENT AGAINST IT) - alcohol not effective
- Noraviruses
- Rotavirus
ENTERIC (fecal/oral)
- c diff, hep a (anus), cholera, stapth infections, RSV ( however it is transmitted via droplet”, herpes
event hough RSV transmit through droplet, they have CONTACT precautions
C. DIFFICILE:
- bleach solutions ( chlorine )
- isopropyl alcohol NOT EFFECTIVE
ROTAVIRUS
- diarrhea (observe for decreased urination and dry mucous
- parents should diaper more frequently and wash the perianal area with mild soap and water
- alcohol wipes can irritate the the genital
