way to know Christ is through hidden knowledge given to select few by which one enters into divinity; flesh not worthy of divine God; Christ had divine indwelling – created person;
Gnosticism
Christ was not human, God only appeared in human form. No Trinity?, flesh bad, God cannot be subject to bodily concerns.
Docetism
only one person of God; no Trinity; appears in two main forms
Monarchism
God appears in various forms (Christ and Spirit); one God, one person – varying modes of existence;
Modalism
Christ was man but adopted in such a way as to be granted favor; most ideal man; complete indwelling of Father; no Trinity (logos extension of Father, not distinct).
