One God,angels, holy texts, prophets, day of Judgement and supremacy of Allah’s will
what do Shi’a Muslims believe?
One God, prophethood, Resurrection, imams and the justice of Allah
What or who is Allah?
Allah is the Arabic word for God.
Muslims have 99 ‘beautiful’ names for Allah however they are more like qualities to help them understand His nature.
What is immanence?
Involved in the world
“He is with you wherever you may be” (57:4)
What is transcendence?
Beyond time and space
“Nothing is there like Him” (42:11)
What is omnipotence?
all-powerful
Allah is kind and forgiving
merciful
Who is Muhhamad (pbuh)?
All Muslims believe in him and he was the last chosen prophet of Allah.
he received the Qur’an and started the early Muslim community.
What is Makkah (Mecca)?
Muhammad set up this as the ‘House Of Allah’ for His worship
What created the divide between Sunni and Shi’a Muslims?
After Muhammad’s death there was a power struggle and argument broke out over Leadership- passed down through his family line or should the leader be elected? this is how the divide happens?
Sunni- elected or family line?

Shi’a- family line or elected?
Muhammad’s family line and are 10-15% of all Muslims in the world
What is the Qur’an?
The Qur’an is the ultimate book of guidance dictated to Muhammad by the angel Jibril. It has never been changed and supersedes other early holy books.
What is a Hadith?
Hadiths are the teachings of Muhammad
What is Sunnah?
Sunnah is the way of life of the prophet Muhammad
