Sunni - Zakah, 2.5% of annual savings, help community
Shi’a - Zakah and Khums, 20% tax, half go to religious leaders and half to charity and poor

Have to be fair to others, not discriminate against others and never be extreme about their emotions, Allah is fair and treats everyone equally
Do what is right and told by Allah to do and take full responsibility for action, Allah will judge actions on Day of Judgement, Allah rewards a good deed and gives an evil actions consequences

Sunni - Day of Atonement, forgiveness of sins, celebrate Israelites freed from slavery or day Noah left the ark after flood by fasting
Shi’a - Day of Remembrance, Hussein (Muhammad’s grandson) at battle of Karbala, wear black for grief, some beat themselves with whips and chain, read poems/perform plays about tragedy or Hussein
2 ways authority of the Qur’an influences Muslims today?
It gives guidance to Muslims throughout their lives, in all aspects from birth to marriage to death, includes Shariah Laws and social systems
Teaches them how to live a good life, stop them from committing evil deeds and instead follow and do what Allah wants them to do

Shi’a pray on natural element, clay or stone tablet to prostrate on while Sunni will pray on anything that is clean
