What is the Shahadah and when is it said

Shi’a Muslims add “and Ali is a friend of god”
Said when a baby is born, in daily prayers and if possible the last words before they die
Salah - how do Muslims prepare to pray
- separation of sexes
- removal of shoes symbolising respect and practicality to keep the place clean
- ablution, washing feet in special rooms, spiritual cleanliness is required to allow Muslims to focus fully on their prayers
- clothing, body must be covered, wear topi or hijab to symbolise that allah only looks at the concerns of the heart not appearance

Muslims follow the rak’ah, a set prayer ritual
Involves standing, then kneeling, then putting your forehead on the ground as a sign of submission to Allah
Shi’a Muslims do this slightly differently and touch their foreheads to a clay or wooden tablet during the rak’ah
