Allah
The word muslims use to describe God who created everything in the world
The characteristics of Allah
Transcendance, omnipotence, fairness and justness, immanent, beneficent, merciful
Angels (malaikah) in Islam
Their purpose is to communicate with the earth and with humans. They are made of light and have wings , they are eternal, they can appear in human form, they record the good and bad deeds of all the humans.
Angel Jibril (Gabriel)
He is the bringer of good news. He fights for Allah against bad people and he knows what Hell looks like.
Shi’a vs Sunni beliefs about angels
Shi’a muslims believe that angels do not have much free time but no desire to sin.
Sunni muslims believe that angels do not have free will which makes them key for carrying out God’s plans
Akhirah
The day of Judgement where everyone who lived on Earth is judged via their deeds that were recorded by the angels
Al Qadr
The belief in predestination meaning Allah knows exactly what is going to happen at what time
Free will
In Islam free will is a key belief because they believe life is a test from Allah to see if we are worthy for heaven (paradise)
Insh’Allah
Frequently used in conversations to express ‘God’s will’
Islam - On Relationship with God

Concept: The importance of having a close and personal relationship with God in Islam.
Islam - On Family
Quote: “He who is not merciful to our children and does not acknowledge the right of our elders is not one of us.”

Concept: The emphasis on respect and kindness within family relationships in Islam.
Islam - On Afterlife
Quote: “And whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.”
