A
- Those who fear punishment in hell are motivated to avoid evil, e.g. aboid alcohol.
- Some will be willing to die for their cause as martyrs as they expect a favourable reward.

A
- Angels serve and praise God, and do as God commands.
- Angels often interact with human beings, acting as messengers - Jibril revealed the Qur’an.

‘To describe God as “omnipotent” is the best way to understand God.’ Evaluate.
A
- God’s power suggests he is in control of everything, seen in Creation - the belief in Inshallah (If God Wills)
- Word “Islam” means “submission”, and so describing God as all-powerful aligns with this.
- Complicated idea due to existance of evil and suffering - if he were all-powerful, he would try to stop it.
- Represents perfect morals, so can’t commit evil, and so isn’t all powerful, as there are some things he is unable to do.

Explain two ways in which belief in heaven and hell influence Muslims today.
A
- Punishment of hell deters Muslims from committing evil deeds, e.g. will not drink alcohol.
- Muslims will repent of any bad deed to avoid being punished when they are judged by Allah on the last day.

Explain two Muslim teachings about Tawhid.
A
- Fundamental belief within Islam - a duty for all humans to believe - “Allah is the only God in the world”.
- Prophet Muhammad taught Tawhid for 13 years in Makkah, shows it should be taken seriously and to never commit the mistake of worshipping more than one God.
