Differences between Sunni and Shi’a Muslims

A

-Sunni Muslims believe that Allah predestines everything but Shi’a Muslims believe that Allah knows everything that will happen, but does not pre-determine this.

-Sunni’s believe in a caliph and they believe that the leader can be anyone. However, Shia’s believe in an Imam and that you have to be a descendant of the prophet in order to be a leader.

-Sunni’s follow the six articles of faith but the Shia’s follow the five roots of ‘Usul ad-Din’.
