Five Pillars
o Dhikr is embodied by the Five Pillars:• Salat,
• Salat, for example, is a performance of daily prayers which is the vehicle of reminding the adherent of peace, as the adherent “perform(s) the prayer for my remembrance” (Qur’an 20:40) and “In remembrance of God do hearts find satisfaction” (Qur’an 13:28).
• Zakat is another example of creating peace, how?
adherents are commanded to give 2.5% of their wage; reducing economical differences, thus reducing a major ground for arguments and conflict.
• Jihad
is the concept from which the principle of peace derives from; to ‘struggle’ to follow Allah’s will.
o Lesser Jihad may involve fighting and engaging in war in defence of Islam,
The person who struggles so that Allah’s world is supreme is the one serving Allah’s cause” (Hadith).

o Thus, Muslims may only engage themselves in a defensive war.
