The large Eid festival remembering Ibrahim’s sacrifice of Ishmael to Allah. Allah tells Ibrahim a goat can be used instead and that is represented by a sacrifice of a goat
“So turn in prayer towards your Lord and sacrifice” (Qur’an 108:2)
Eid-al Ghadeer
The Shia festival of remembering Muhammad announcing the next prophet will be his cousin Ali. Sunnis disagree with this.
Ashura
Shia festival remembering the massacre of Hussayn and his followers at the battle of Karbala. Sunnis celebrate Musa bringing the Isrealites out of Egypt
What are the 5 pillars of Islam?
Zakah - obligatory act of giving 2.5% percent of your income to good cause, Shahdah - declaration of faith, Sawm - fasting during the month of Ramadan, Salat - praying five times a day, Hajj - going once in your lifetime to Mecca and completing Hajj
