What is the Kabah?
It is a sacred Islamic relic in Makkah.
When was Muhammad born?
570CE, Makkah
What happened to Muhammad’s parents?
His Dad died when he was born and his Mum died when he was 6.
Who did Muhammad marry?
A wealthy widow, Khadija, married at the age of 25.
What is the Qu’ran?
It is the central, religious text of Islam, believed to be sent by God.
Can you photocopy sections of the Qur’an?
It is believed photocopying any part of the Qur’an is not allowed as it may
lead to mishandling or disrespect.
What are the five pillars of Islam?
- Shahadah
- Salat
- Zakat
- Sawm

What is Shahadah?
There is no God but God and Muhammad is the messenger of God.
What is Salat?
Prayer- 5 times a day
Wudu- Wash hands, nose, ears, face, feet, legs
Pray in the direction of the Kabah
What is Zakat?
Need to pay 1/40 of their of their earnings after essentials have been deducted.
What is Sawm?
Fasting from sunrise to sunset on Ramadan
What is Hajj?
A pilgrimage to Mekkah-once in a lifetime
