Why are the big three motives interesting to study?
Because they have been linked to the different kinds of careers we may be drawn to and do well in
Lots of research has been done in the 50s 60s and 70s and they used Klimt term longitudinal studies where they were trying to see if your motives as a 20 years old would predict how far you’d go in a large corporation for example.

About personal power, here people are trying to get impact and influence to benefit the self

Is a valuable thing, but only a certain kind of motivation that is valuable
Someone that is high in power motivation can make a huge difference for everyone in the community.
Example a mother high in power might get more involved in a child school and work to make the things better for all the kids there
Keep in mind this is the positive and socialized version of n power
