Q

What are the three options in which a participant may complete this HRI experiment?

A
  1. Live assessment with the “RCTA” robot (Husky); robot will be assessed as part of an integrated run (i.e., a run that is of interest to both HRI researchers and other RCTA researchers); we will have the least experiment control over the robot’s failures with this option 2. Live assessment with the “RCTA” robot (Husky); robot will be assessed as part of an independent run (i.e., a run that is of interest to only HRI researchers); we will have more control over the robot’s failures with this option when compared to option 1 3. Simulated assessment with a Husky robot within RIVET; robot will be assessed as part of an independent run (i.e., a run that is of interest to only HRI researchers); we will have the most control over the robot’s failures with this option (the failures will be scripted to match the 8 test scenarios)

Q

When is the Ishihara Color Test administered?

A

If the participant indicates that they have any type of color blindness and/or if they do not know whether they have any type of colorblindness.

17
Q

If the participant fails the Ishihara Color Test, will they be able to continue participating?

A

No

18
Q

Does the Husky have an emergency stop function?

A

Yes!

19
Q

How will the experimenter ensure participant safety when interacting with a live robot (i.e., the “RCTA” robot)?

A

By having the participants at least 10 ft away from the robot at all times.
