Explain issues according to IRAC
Legal issues should identified should be specific and in question form. They should also be neutral and not one sided
Explain rule according to IRAC
Set out the broadest principle first, followed by smaller and secondary components or exceptions to the rule. It should resemble a funnel as it will be the most important to least important
Explain analysis according to IRAC
This is the bulk of your argument as you analyse the rule to your facts using the cases discussed in the issue. Always stick to one side of the argument
Conclusion
The conclusion is based on the ending of the application of the rules to the facts. A sentence or two should be written to state the outcome of the issue. It is also called the advice stage.
