IP Connectivity Flashcards
Advertised Distance / Reported Distance (AD/RD)
The metric that has been calculated by the next-hop router
Bandwidth
Data throughput of a link
Components used by EIGRP to calculate the composite metric by default
Delay and bandwidth (load and reliability can also be used)
Delay
Time required to send a packet to its destination
Feasible Distance (FD)
The best metric along a path to a destination
Feasible Successor
Backup path that is guaranteed to be loop-free and can be used if the Successor route goes down. If the AD for a nonsuccessor route is less than the FD of the Successor, the route is a Feasible Successor
Load
Amount of data activity over a link
Reliability
Referes to the bit-error rate of a link
Successor
The best path to a destination network / route with the lowest FD
Directly Attached Static Route
Specifies the destination IPV6 network and the outbound interface
Recursive Static Route
Specifies the destination IPv6 network and the IPv6 next-hop address
