How do you draw an ionic compound

A

Draw brackets around both atom structures
Draw one with electrons as dots and the other with electrons as crosses. Draw where the electrons have been shared by putting a dot on the cross atom or vice versa. Put a + or - to show the charge. The one that has gained an electron is negative the one that has lost one is positive. The more electrons it loses/gains the higher the number before the symbol
