IO Lingo Flashcards
what is a hazard ratio
the likelihood of an event occurring when comparing two different treatments/groups
Ex: if the hazard ratio for disease recurrence for treatment A compared to treatment B is 0.75, then the risk of disease recurrence is lower in the treatment A group compared to B group. The HR of 0.75 means that the patients receiving treatment A have a 25% lower risk of disease recurrence at any given time point during the study period compared to treatment B.
what does “open label” study mean
clinical trial or research study in which both the researchers and the participants are fully aware of the treatment being administered. There is no blinding.
objective response rate vs. disease control rate
objective response rate = complete response + partial response
disease control rate = complete response + partial response + stable disease
