Perpetrator aka perp
Person who actually commits the crime (doer)
Aiding
Linked to the crime via the perpetrator (helper, co perpetrator)
Abetting
Encourages the perp to commit the crime, without preforming any act, but at the scene
Counselling
Persuading someone to commit a crime, but not actually at the scene (advisor)
Accessory after the fact
Knowing someone who is going to commit a crime, giving them a safe house after the crime, or helping them in any other way after the crime
Party to common intention
While committing a crime and your partner shoots and kills someone, you will also be charged for murder
Incomplete crimes
The crime has to carry out
If you were to shoplift, but decided not to last minute then you have not committed a crime, as long as it hasn’t left the store
Attempt
If someone attempts to kill someone and fails then he/she can still be charged with assault
Conspiracy
Agreement between 2 or more people to commit an illegal act, they will be charged, even if the act isn’t carried out
