Randomization and Blinding

What role does investigator have in this? (ICH)

A

Randomization: investigator should follow randomization procedures and only break randomization in accordance with the protocol

Blinding: Investigator tells sponsor about premature blinding

Safety Reporting

A

SAE - Should be reported immediately to the sponsor and then followed up with a detailed written report

AE - reported to the sponsor according to reporting requirements specified by the sponsor in the protocol

Premature Termination/Suspension

A
  1. If terminated/suspended w/o prior agreement, Investigator informs institution, sponsor, IRB/IEC, then provides an explanation
  2. If sponsor terminates/suspends, investigator tells the institution, IRB, and then provides IRB/IEC with an explanation
  3. If trial is ended prematurely, investigator informs subjects
