Investigations Flashcards
Why do we do investigations?
Because we need to test our prediction and then get evidence to back up our ideas
Where do we carry out investigations?
We carry them out in a lab or outside.
If we do them outside the investigation is called fieldwork.
If you do it in a lab you are going to most probably testing chemicals and etc.
How do you make the investigation a fair test?
You can only change 1️⃣ thing and keep the ret the same.
What are the different types of variables?
- Independent variable
- Dependent variable
- Control variable
What do the different variables do?
Independent variable ~the thing you change
Dependent variable ~the effect that you measure
Control variable ~the thing you keep the same
Why do you need to repeat the investigation?
You need to repeat it because they need to be accurate
How careful do you need to be?
You need to be very careful with your investigation because you might make an error
What is a systematic error?
It is an error which you have done all the way through your investigation which means all of your answers are wrong.
