Investigating Energy transfers Flashcards
Step 1
Boil water in a kettle and pour some of it into a seal-able container to a safe level and measure the mass of the water in the container. By placing the seal-able container on the balance and setting it to 0 before before pouring the water in it.
Step 2
Measure the temp using a thermometer. Then, seal the container and leave it for 5 minute. Measure this time with a stopwatch.
Step 3
Remove the lid and measure the final temp of the water. Then, Pour the water away and allow the container to cool to room temp.
Step 4
Repeat this experiment 5 times using a different material the container in each time once it has been sealed.
