what are the 2 main parts of sociology
-structuralism
-interpretivism
what is structuralism
structuralists focus on the social structure rather than the individuals and this is the macro scale. They believe that its the actions that people carry out are important and not the individuals themselves
what is interpretivism
interpretivists focus on the individuals rather than the social structure and this is the micro scale. They believe that individuals are in control, pulling the strings of society and our actions are not imposed by the society.
what is a social consensus
this is when people share the same values and there are no major disagreements between major groups
what is a social conflict
this is when major disagreements happens because of important issues
