Introduction To Instrumentation Systems Flashcards
What is a system?
An arrangement of parts within a boundary that work together to provide an output from a specified input or inputs
What does a instrumentation system do
It gives the user a numerical value corresponding to the variable being measured
What is the input of a measurement system
The true value of the variable being measured
What is the output of a measurement system
The measured value of a variable
What are the three main elements of an instrumentation system
Sensors, signal processors, data presentation, easements
What is a sensor
An element of the system that is in contact with the variable being measured, and gives an output depending on the value of the variable
What is a signal processor
An element that converts the output of a sensor into a form suitable for display or transmission within a system
What is data presentation
It Presents the data in a form with enables an observer to recognise it
What is a transducer
An element that converts one change in a variable to another change in a variable
