What is management
Management is the process of designing and maintaining an environment in which individuals working together in groups
What is hrm?
The process of acquiring, training, appraising, and compensating employees, and of attending to their labor relations, health and safety, and fairness concerns.
What is organisation
People with formally assigned roles who work together to achieve the organization’s goals.
Manager
The person responsible for accomplishing the organization’s goals, and who does so by managing the efforts of the organization’s people.

To help the organisation reach its goals
To employ the skills and abilities of the workforce effectively
To provide the organisation with well-trained and well-motivated employees
To increase to the fullest the employees job satisfaction and self-actualisation
To develop and maintain a quality of work life
To communicate HR policies to all employees
To be ethically and socially responsible to the needs of society
In order to achieve the above objectives, HRM undertakes the following activities
(i) Human ResourcePlanning,i.e.,determiningthe numberand kinds of personnel required to fill various positions in the organisation.
(ii) Recruitment, selection and placement of personnel, i.e., employment function.
(iii) Training and development of employees for their efficient performance and growth.
(iv) Appraisal of performance of employees and taking corrective steps such as transfer from one job to another
(v) Motivation of workforce by providing financial incentives and avenues of promotion.
(vi) Remuneration of employees. The employees must be given sufficient wages and fringe benefits to achieve higher standard of living and to motivate them to show higher productivity.

Personnel management is the planning, organizing, compensation, integration and maintenance of people for the purpose of contributing to organizational, individual and societal goals.
Difference between human resource management and personal management

HM- employees are treated as a resource and an asset
P- employees are treated like other components such as machine equipments etc

HM- employees are treated as economic social and psychological men
