What is a computer network?
It is a physical or wireless link between two or more computers so that they can exchange data.
What kind of data can be exchanged between computers or on a network?
Text, images, audio and video.
What are used for connecting devices?
Cables and network connecting devices are used, also like switch or roller to link up the computer.
What cables can be replaced by?
Wireless connection methods, such as Wi-Fi. However, wireless connection is usually less stable and transmit slower than cabled connections.
What is the Internet?
It means smaller networks can be connected to form bigger networks. The Internet is the global system of networks connected together.
What does the general public connect their devices to the Internet through?
Internet Service Provider.
What does high speed Internet connections are generally refered to?
Broadband
What connects a local computer network to the Internet?
A Broadband router.
What is often required in an Internet connection?
A broadband modem.
What is network eavesdropping?
Data is transmitted through the Internet can be eavesdropped by the others without your permission.
What is used to protect the data and what is it?
Encryption. It is to make the data unreadable to people who are not involved in the communication even if the data has been eavesdropped.
What is malware?
It is a computer program intentionally designed to cause damage to computer or to capture information from a computer or network without permission.
What are the common kinds of malware?
Virus, worm, trojan horse and ransomware.
What is virus?
It is a software that can copy itself into other programs or files after the user runs it.
What is a worm?
It is a software that sends copies of itself to other companies via a computer programme.
