Maccoby’s 4 key attachment behaviours
A
- proximity seeking behaviour to primary caregiver - infant stays close to attachment figure
- separation anxiety and distress - both infant and caregiver experience distress on separation
- pleasure when reunited
- general orientation of behaviour towards primary caregiver - infant is aware of caregiver at all times and frequently makes contact for reassurance
