Q

What are the three types Yarn occurs in?

A
  1. SPUN YARN - A number of fibers twisted together.
  2. ZERO-TWIST YARN - a number of filaments laid together without twist.
  3. A number of filaments laid together with a degree of twist.

Q

Define a Staple Fiber.

A

A non-continuous fiber of relatively short length.
Staple Fibers must be twisted together to form a long, continuous yarn. They are usually natural fibers:
- cotton
- wool
- flax
