Why are women hesitant to work out?
They don’t feel enough support at the gym, don’t feel comfortable, don’t want to look muscular as it appears “unfeminine”
Why is it important to encourage women to do strength-building exercises?
- It is not just about sculpting the body but how we can use our bodies as a way to summon the strength in ourselves.
- It’s to help bring ourselves back up when we work.
- Also, stronger muscles –> sped up metabolisms –> keeps body fat down
- Decreases our risk of contracting health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer
What are the three key elements to getting and staying strong and lean?
1) Muscular strength
2) Aerobic exercise
3) Steady eating habits with low-fat foods
What are some other benefits of strength training and other types of exercise?
- Relieving stress
- Improving endurance, reduce fatigue
- Lowering blood pressure
- Easing symtpoms of PMS, reduce cramps and length of menstrual cycle
- Promoting lower levels of total cholesterol, prevening heart disease
- Possibly preventing cancer
- Improving self-image and self-esteem
- Providing greater mental focusing skills
- Heightening the sensitivity to our bodies’ needs
- Giving us greater peace of mind and ability to relax
