A
Gorbachev’s determination to bring about significant reform had significant repercussions on the GDR. This with the severe economic problems and popular demand for reform combined to bring about the opening of the border between the GDR and the FRG in November 1989.

What did the opening of the wall actually mean?
A
It meant that the reunited was started to come back as a result of the opening of the wall and people were making it clear that just because they opened the wall didn’t mean they were leaving.
