A

Prior to 1941, America was an extremely racist country. The treatment of various groups worsened depending on their position in the racial hierarchy. Black people were extremely discriminated against during this time period and they were subjected to De Facto segregation in the Northern states and De Jure segregation in the Southern states.

A

Some historians argue that legal impediments and the “separate but equal” decision was the most significant obstacle in preventing Black Americans from achieving civil rights, whereas others argue that the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), division in the black community, a lack of political influence and popular and prejudice were more important obstacles.
