Article V
Article V sets up the process to amend the Constitution. The amendment must be proposed by 2/3 of both houses or 2/3 of the states and ratified by ¾ of the legislature.
Article VI
Article VI discusses debts, has the Supremacy Clause and then establishes that all government officials must swear an oath to support the Constitution.
Article VII
Article VII ratified the Constitution
Constitutional Grant of Federal Power
The Constitution grants the federal government powers and there are no other sources of power for the federal government. Other powers can be granted to state governments.
State Action Requirement
Only the government, not individuals, can infringe on people’s constitutional rights. There’s an exception for the 13th Amendment (slavery). And it sometimes can be violated by a private actor who performs a state action, like Twitter violating the 1st Amendment by censoring content.
Congress’s and the President’s Roles
Congress makes the law. Presidents can issue executive orders but they are not law. They are designed to implement existing law created by Congress or constitutional commands
