Introducing Richardson Flashcards
Master a general overview of Richardson
What does Richardson do?
Richardson is one of the world’s largest sales training and performance improvement companies. We help our clients define and deploy consistent, efficient sales processes, and we design and deliver customized sales training solutions that develop skills necessary for outstanding customer interactions.
What do you do?
As Chief Strategy Officer, I am responsible for Richardson’s customer and market research programs, thought leadership, product and marketing strategy, and strategic alliances. My goal is to keep my finger on the pulse of what’s new and working in sales, and bring these innovations to market for the benefit of our partners.
What makes you different from other sales training companies?
We believe we’re different for several reasons. First, we have a comprehensive solution set that covers all major sales process methodologies and skills. Second, we customize all solutions to meet the exact needs of our clients. Doing this requires us to become very knowledgeable of their business, and enables us to disseminate competitive differentiators and best practices throughout the training. Third, we are thought leaders in the space and invest heavily in research and keeping our finger on the pulse of what’s working and what new in the sales ecosystem. In many cases we act as a systems integrator for our clients implementing different point solutions. Finally, we work across many great companies, which enables us to learn from them and continually improve our solutions.
What type of clients do you work with?
Our rigorous approach means that our clients make significant investments in program customization. As a result, they are typically larger companies with more than 100 sales people, or they sell very high-value solutions. We work with B2B companies involved in complex sales, such as those in the technology, financial services, insurance, business services, manufacturing and life sciences. And, we work with B2C companies with sophisticated buyers, such as those in consumer banking, private wealth management, insurance, hospitality and luxury goods.
How big is Richardson?
We have about 200 associates. About 60 are located in at our HQ in Philadelphia, and the rest are either in field sales, or they are trainers, consultants or instructional designers who work remotely. We work across the globe in 15 languages. In 2012 we trained nearly 75,000 people, interviewed over 1,000 senior executives and surveyed 3,000 reps.
