Q

What’s behind el Jimador?

A

Jimador is the name given to the Master Harvesters of the Blue Weber Agave plant from which the tequila is made. It’s their spirit we honor with every glass and a legacy we honor with the name el Jimador Tequila.

17
Q

What’s behind the name Herradura?

A

The name, which means horseshoe in Spanish is said to have come from finding a horseshoe on the hacienda property. In Mexico a horseshoe is said to bring good luck. The horseshoe on the Herradura Tequila bottle points downward so that fortune may pour out for all who enjoy Herradura Tequila.

18
Q

How tequila is made?

A

Planting, when reached maturation, the Jimadors cut it down using a Coa. The Piñas (core of the Agave plants) are what will then be used to make Tequila. Piñas are slow roasted for 26 hours in traditional brick ovens. Then natural fermentation by way of air-borne yeasts provide our Tequila with an unmatched flavour profile. El Jimador and Herradura Tequila are distilled twice, removing every impurity. The Tequila is aged in charred American White Oak Barrels to taste. Bottling also takes place on the ground of the Casa.
