What is Agile?
Set of methodologies and frameworks that share a manifesto and a set of principles (scrum is one such framework)
What is Scrum?
A framework for developing and sustaining complex products consisting of self organizing and cross functional teams.
What is a cross functional team?
A team consisting of a group of people with different areas of expertise that work together for the same outcome
What is a self organizing team?
A team capable of organizing themselves based on their areas of expertise and can make decisions collectively to achieve an outcome
How does a scrum Team works?
They work in iterations which allows business the flexibility to change their requirements but give development team the certainty they need to deliver a working piece of the product.
What are the 3 principles of Scrum?
- Transparency
- Inspection
- Adaptation
What is the Scrum transparency principle?
- Scrum team must be honest in all that they do. 2.Functionality is not done until it meets the team’s definition of done
What is the Scrum Inspection principle?
Check on progress to make and make improvements based on what they have seen
What is the Scrum Adaptation principle?
Change the product based on inspection but it also mean improvements on practices, sticking to values, communication.
What are the Scrum Values?
- Commitment- to achieve goals and support each other
- Focus-on sprint work and make progress towards goals
- Openness-scrum/stakeholders are open about work and challenges
- Respect-each other to be capable and independent
- Courage-to do the right thing and work through problems
What are the 4 formal events within scrum?
- sprint planning
- daily scrum
- sprint review
- sprint retrospective
