What is Air Traffic Control?
Air traffic control means a service operated by an appropriate authority to promote the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic.
What is an Air Traffic Controller?
Is a person who is responsible for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic in the global air traffic control system.
What is the National Aispace System?
Is a network of both controlled and uncontrolled airspace, both domestic and oceanic.
It also includes air navigation facilities, equipment and services; airports and landing areas; aeronautical charts; information and services; rules and regulations; procedures and technical information; and manpower and material.
What is the FAA?
The FAA is the federal agency responsible for the safety of civil
aviation operations in the United States.
What are some responsabilities of the FAA?
- Certification of pilots, mechanics, and other safety-related air carrier employees.
- Promoting and regulating commercial space transportation and for developing programs to study and mitigate some of the adverse environmental effects of civil aviation.
- Operating the National Airspace System, including civilian and military air navigation and air traffic control.
