Tell Me About Yourself
I’ve always loved creating new things - woodworking - skateboards - surfboards - or little inventions, and this led me to pursuing a Mechanical ENgineering degree, which quickly changed into a biomedical engineering degree once I was introduced to the field.
- Currently a rising senior at Syracuse University studying Biomedical Engineering
- Past experiences include
a) being a shift manager at a popular
local ice cream store
b) project manager in a fraternity
c) participant in a program called
Invent @ SU
d) TA for a biomedical engineering course
f) Manufacturing Engineer intern here at Thermo Fisher
In most of these roles, I was able to exercise skills such as leadership/management and critical thinking problem-solving.
- What I’m looking to do in my career is start more technical(for ex Operations), to develop a good foundation to then become a leader/people manager kind of person.
This is why I’m applying for this role, as it would not only allow me to develop as a leader but allow me to find where I best fit for the company as well.
Why do you want to do OLDP?
- I want to find where I best fit for myself and the company
- I want to find what I’m good at while also developing my leadership skills
- I find operations very interesting, from supply chain to q.c ; however, I’d really like to find which area I excel in not only for myself but for the company as well.
- The program is an incredible avenue to get 8 years of experience in 2.
- Not only do I want to learn and hone my leadership skills, but I also am very interested in making an impact to a company that makes the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
Where do you see in 5 years?
- In 5 years I would like to be in a people management role, for example a supervisor or manager.
What are your three strenghts.
