Intro + Mediational (cognitive) Factors Flashcards
Like behaviourists, what did Bandura agree that learning occurs through? However what did he further propose?
Bandura, like Behaviourists, agreed that learning occurs through experience. However he further proposed that learning takes place in a social context through observation and imitation of others. He claimed that behaviour that is seemed to be rewarded is more likely to be copied - he called this vicarious reinforcement.
What did bandura claim?
Bandura claimed there are four key meditational (cognitive) factors that play a crucial role in learning - attention (whether a behaviours noticed), retention (whether it is remembered), motor reproduction (whether the person feels they are capable of performing the behaviour) and motivation, whether they want to perform the behaviour.
