fake science, beliefs/practices
what are some ways that science differs from pseudo-sciences?
- science develops hypotheses that can be tested through research
- relies on systematic data collection
what is empirical evidence?
observable evidence, evidence that is taken from an experiment
what are some differences between psychologist and psychiatrist?
psychologist - require 6-7 years of study, doctorate in psychology, treatment using psychotherapies eg.talking therapy, cannot admit patients to a hospital
psychiatrist - require 13 years of study, medical doctor, can prescribe medication to treat disorders, can admit patients to a hospital
