This refers to the expression of who we are. It involves
a person’s thoughts, feelings, and sexual expression
and relationships, as well as the biology of the sexual
response system
Sexuality
This is the erotic or romantic attraction (or “preference”)
for sharing sexual expression with the opposite sex
(heterosexuality), one’s own sex (homosexuality), or
both sexes (bisexuality).
Sexuality orientation
This refers to any distinction, exclusion or restriction
made on the basis of socially constructed gender roles
and norms which prevents a person from enjoying full
human rights
Gender discrimination
These are activities based on biological function
e.g. pregnancy
Sex Roles
These are what women and men can do,
activities that are learned and NOT in-born
behaviors learned in early childhood
Gender Roles
Men and women’s process of learning culturally
approved ways of thinking, feeling and behaving
which may be shaped by the family, school, state,
church and media.
Gender role socialization
This is how women and men relate to each other.
