What is the structure of a monocyte?
Lymphocyte
Basophils?

Mono- vacuoles, non-segmented nucles, no granules, large cell compared to RBC
Lymp- no granules, non-segmented nucleus
Baso- granulocytes that cover the whole cell

If looking at a blood film what can indicate that the subject is anaemic?
A
If large spaces between the rbcs

What is the function of platelets ? And what is significance of more of them on a film?
A
To clot the blood, more of them may mean a clot has formed somewhere

What is MCV?

The mean cellular volume and it is used to see if someone is aneamic with iron deficiency
