Why did they wanna start the League of Nations?
Collective security, Arbitration, resolving conflicts before war, problem-solving in a group, you attack one of us you attack all of us.
Why did the league of nations fail?
There were no troops/enforcement, major nations weren’t there
What is Laissez-faire captialsim?
The government does not interfere with the market, and lets it do its thing.
What caused the roaring twneties?
The money made from selling weapons to the Allies. (17 billion)
What were all the good things that happened in the 20s?
More people living in cities than farms, flappers & women’s freedom, the film industry (800 every year), “Jazz Age”, “Harlem renaissance”, increased crime rates.
What caused the stock market crash?
An increase in bank credits and loans, which doubled consumer debt. Investors were overconfident, and eventually their confidence fell and they all sold their stocks. Leading to a 10 year recession.

What happened during the Chanak Crisis?
It was the first time canada refused unconditional support for britain. It happened in 1922.
What was the significance of the Halibut Treaty?
It was a treaty that was only signed by american and canadian. In the past, it would’ve been signed by a british ambassador. This helped canada gain autonomy in foreign affairs.
What was the significance of the car being invented?
It allowed people to get around faster, allowed people to live further away from their jobs, therefore creating suburbs.
