FAE description

A

A FAE operates fire apparatus during wildland, structural, rescue, and other firefighting operations, leads an assigned crew in the performance of firefighting duties, maintains and makes minor repairs on vehicles, equipment, and the fire stations, performs fire prevention tasks, performs medical aid duties, keep records and prepares reports, and does other related duties as required.

Progressive Discipline

A

The main emphasis of the progressive discipline process is to PREVENT problems from occurring or to CORRECT problems that do occur through training or instruction.

Def- A system of increasingly significant measures that are utilized to provide feedback to employees

Preventive, Corrective, Adverse.
Preventive is most important and most of the time is spent there.

Always offer EAP huge benefit for the employee and dept.

It’s purpose is not to punish but to correct

Closing Statement

A

Thank you for your time today and the opportunity to have a more dynamic role in our department.
A department and unit that is growing and a leader in working towards the future of the dept through cooperation with our neighbors and contracts.
I’ve had the opportunity to hold a variety of positions with CF, USFS and SDCFA from handcrews to helicopters, dispatching to dozers, logistics to teaching, and engines to trucks.
This wide range of experience will allow me to tackle any situation with maturity and confidence.
If given the opportunity I will continue to exemplify CF’s mission through my hard work both on and off duty.
