Interview Questions Flashcards

Q

(Securly) What do you know about our company so far?

A

Based on my research, I understand that your companies main objectives center on helping schools prioritize students safety and well being, as well as priortizing engagement of the students in helping them to learn. It looks like you have a set of tools than can be used to help schools be aware of visitors on site and also tools that can help filter what students come into contact with online. This is something that I would love to be a part of because I love what the company is doing. Technology is ever evolving and I believe that using it’s power to better students is really a game changer.

Q

Walk me through your resume/ background

A

In my most recent experience, I have mainly been self-employed. I have worked mainly in private domestic service and then sort of transitioned within that to doing administrative work for a past employer of mine. This also led to some referrals and I have mainly been just doing virtual assistant work here and there. Some of the tasks I have helped with have been email management, calendar management, researching and scheduling vendors, liasing with other staff in the home to ensure things are really running efficiently and smooth.

Before that, I worked in customer service role in hospitality, retail, and food service and have acquired great exposure to communicating professionally in a customer-facing role. I do believe these experiences are relevant and set me up for success in a sales role.

Q

Tell me about a time you succeeded or were proud of yourself

A

Yes, so there was a time I had to help organize and oversee an important event for a client. I was a part of a team with two other staff and the goal was to make sure the night went smoothly. I was tasked with coordinating with the team to make sure the caterers arrived in a timely manner, and helped everyone understand their roles, from formal dinner service education and greeting guests. I was recognized for my leadership and asked to help with additional events and that was just an example of a time I was really proud of myself and we succeeded.

Q

Tell me about a time when you failed

A

In my previous role as a fast food assistant manager, I encountered a situation where we experienced a significant increase in customer complaints about the wait time at the drive-thru. Upon reflection, I realized that my initial approach was not as effective as I had hoped. This failure taught me the importance of analyzing the situation and making changes. To rectify the situation, I took a step back and conducted a thorough evaluation of our drive-thru operations. I engaged with the staff to gather insights and identified bottlenecks in the workflow. In the end I implemented a revised training program to enhance team coordination and efficiency as well as working closely with the kitchen staff to optimize food times. The result of these changes was a significant reduction in customer wait times and a notable decrease in complaints. The experience actually taught me a lot, especially about identifying and addressing underlying issues to achieve our goals.

Q

Tell me about a time you made a mistake

A

Answer: When working as a virtuaI assistants, I once made a mistake in scheduling an important virtual meeting for a client. Due to a miscommunication, I had incorrectly noted the time zone, leading to confusion and inconvenience for the client and other participants. I then immediately took responsibility for the mistake and rescheduled the meeting, double-checking the time zone and ensuring all participants were notified of the changes. From then on, I then made sure to always double check the time zone when scheduling meetings after that. This experience really showed me the value of being detail-oriented and effective communication, as well as learning from your mistakes.
