Who am I (private work)? (sets the tone)
I am Gerben Sam (37 years old) and I am a calm analytical result-oriented person. I am ambitious and continuously active in development. I attach great importance to autonomy, reliability, honesty and staying objective. I have a wife (Heleen) and two children (Lea 2y and Timo 0y) I live in Zandvoort, close to nature What I like is sports, being in nature (beach, dunes, forest), woodworking and guitar music.
My current role is Quality Release manager for the production of Vaccines and for transport (Global Logistics). My team consists of 20 direct reports with various functions and education levels. The main goals that I want to achieve in my position are: A) to strengthen collaboration between team members, B) to allow the release (Release) of vaccines and transport (ROT/MBTR) to take place without delay.

Why is Q-lead BL an intuitive good step?
I like to implement or set up structures. In this role I expect more strategy and building overarching processes, systems and programs - less day-to-day management.

T: PS LC-QN dev.red
A: I have Risk-Based evaluated the BL lines on Hot-Zones: constructive/focus.
R: With PS all IPT’s then over the entire site. QN-LC reduction 80% in first year.
Why is Q-lead BL a logical step?
Logical step: S>M>S&M
S1: PS, T1: Department GMP Conscience, Quality Assurance, A1: Dev. Reduction eg in Helium and oxygen leakage tests, through improved procedures and technical adjustments,
S2: QR-Manager, T2: Ensure team of 20p has release docs in order for QP, A2: Clear focus on which metrics are most important, keep focus session for people/process sharp
R1+2: Knowledge of the IPT-BL & QR and both Outperformed
You are already part of the QR team, difficult to manage?
No, VC apart from Small molec. Different worlds, really different teams. I have virtually no contact with QPs from BL/SP.
S: QR restructuring into separate teams in 2018
T: At QR-VC, my role was to make the team independent.
A: That’s why I spent a lot of time Cross-training within the team.
R: Completely independent team, no backup needed, other processes
How do you want to grow in this position?
Opportunity for further development as S (QP) and M (more specialist + sub-team)
S: In 2015 I was lead of a hospital pharmacy.
T: In addition, managing a team of specialists (ZKH-Apo) and responsible for the processes.
A: I studied the procedures & processes as well as held discussions with the specialists
R: As Interim Lead hospital pharmacy (specialist + manager) I saw how processes and practice interact, something from which you can learn and grow quickly.
What do you expect of this role? What will be fun?
Combination of management and QP-role, Collab. IPT BL, Global contact (stategy/politics) relations with other sites and suppliers (and escalations), Project that help build structure, Release ritme (pull/push/ruring)
What will be frustrating?
Initiatives with Global approval, that are disruptive for our site. (QSIP)
