What is the object of the Act?
SALE AND SUPPLY OF ALCOHOL ACT 2012
The object of that Act is to ensure the SAFE and responsible SALE, SUPPLY, and CONSUMPTION of alcohol and the minimisation of harm caused by its excessive or inappropriate use
What type of licenses do your premises have and what does this mean?

UNDESIGNATED: Patrons can be any age
SUPERVISED AREA: Patrons can be under 18, but must be with a legal guardian or parent

Every holder of an on-licence must display a copy
of the licence, showing the conditions, in the interior
of the premises where it can be easily read by people
entering the premises

What is on your host responsibility policy and what is the reason for having one?
- To provide food options
- Signage advertising food options

- A telephone should be available so people can call alternative safe transport should they need to
- Contact details for local taxi drivers should be on display for patrons to see - Prevent unsafe drinking/intoxication
- Signage indicating intoxicated patrons will not be served
- Staff trained to the standard required to execute the sale and supply of alcohol act 2012 e efficiently thus preventing intoxicated patrons - Provide non alcoholic beer etc and or low alcoholic beverages
- Tap water provided free of charge
- Soft drink, non and low alcoholic beverages advertised and available at the bar point of service - To prevent service to prohibited people
- Staff to ID anyone who looks under the age of 25 to ensure alcohol is not sold or supplied to a minor
- Staff should know not to sell alcohol to intoxicated patrons as per the act - Intention statement
- The bene t of this is having clear guidelines and rules as to what is acceptable and non acceptable on the premises
Name the four main types of licenses?
ON: For sale and supply to consume alcohol on the premises (Tavern)
OFF: To sell alcohol in closed containers to take away and consume in other premises like home (Bottle store)
CLUB: For the sale and supply and consumption on the premises.
SPECIAL: To change conditions of the existing license
Have you had to refuse service to someone, how did you handle the situation?
Calm, firm and friendly.
When can the Police and the Licensing Inspector enter the premises? Do they need to identify themselves when rst entering the premises?
At any reasonable time (when the premises is open for business)
At any time they believe an offence is being committed on the premises.
