Why do you want to be a BC?
A
- I can anticipate the BCs orders
- People look to me for advice/direction
- New Challenge
- More worried about everyone going home safe vs being 1st on scene.
- I can make more of a difference at the BC level
- Greater role and reach regarding mentoring/developing
- Longevity
- Theres a need for BCs and I can fill that role
- Critical time in our organization and I want to the responsibility of being a part of our continued success
- 19 years on the job.

What have you done to be a BC?
A
- Been preparing to be a BC for 19 years,
- Always taken the busiest position/spot on a truck (Asked to stay at 154 numerous times)
- Went into admin to get different perspective.
- Always talk to Chief Officers-embraced the role of reporting and answering to many people even though I was a direct report to the Fire Chief
- Payed close attention to City Politics
- PIO
- WDC
- Prepared questions for Chief Officers
