Tell me about yourself

A

my name is omolola Adewuni and I recently graduated from York college with a bachelors in psychology. Throughout my education journey I have gained solid foundation in relevant coursework’s such as statistical methods, behavior modification, industrial psychology and organizational behavior.l am currently furthering my education in order to to receive the Google project management professional certificate as well as the IBM cybersecurity compliance frame work and systems administration certificate.

In terms of my work experience, I have been working as an onboarding specialist at unite Africa insurance tech since may 2022. I have successfully decreased employee turnover rate by implementing feedback systems and improving the onboarding experience. I also improve the experience by staying up to date with trends and industry best practices.

I also worked as an aba therapist at a friend,y face where I implemented applied behavior analysis strategies to support individuals with autism spectrum disorder. By utilizing data collection and analysis techniques I assessed clients progress and adjusted treatment accordingly. Building rapport between client and families was also necessary to promote a collaborative and supportive environment.

During a contract position at Bebe creative curls as a project coordinator I successfully managed and executed a major salon renovation. I coordinated with vendors and contractors to ensure completion and oversaw a marketing campaign in order to increase website traction.

Lastly, I worked as an administrative assistant at Maura health and fitness, although I started off as a receptionist, I was soon promoted to administrative assistant 6 months in. During this time I successfully managed and coordinated company’s calendars, events ensuring smooth and timely execution, improved communication and collaboration across departments.

In terms of skills, I am proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, have a strong background in onboarding, I speak English and Yoruba which are both native languages. Beyond my professional interest I have an interest in event planning,content creation and reading novels. These interests demonstrate my creativity, attention to detail.

Overall, my educational background in psychology, combined with my work experience has equipped me with a diverse skill set and a strong foundation in understanding human behavior. I am eager to bring my skills, dedication, and passion for creating positive experiences to a role where I can contribute to organizational success and make a meaningful impact.”

A

Human Resources is particularly captivating to me because it provides an opportunity to apply my background in psychology. As a psych major I have a deep understanding for human behavior and motivations. The role allows me to use my knowledge in psychology to effectively support employees well-being while also protecting the interests of the company I work for.

Wher do you see yourself in 5 years

A

In the next five years, I see myself furthering my career in human resources by taking on increasingly challenging roles with a focus on organizational development and employee engagement. Tell me about a time you made a mistake

A

In my current role as an Onboarding Specialist at Unyte Africa Insurance Tech, I encountered a situation where I inadvertently overlooked an important step in the employee onboarding process. Upon realizing my mistake, I took responsibility immediately by reaching out to the new hire and apologizing for the inconvenience caused. I scheduled a meeting with them at a later date to discuss information missed. I now incorporate a checklist system to ensure completion of each step

What are your strengths and weaknesses

A

A key strength I have is my attention to detail. My conscientious nature which enables me to carefully review information and identify any errors or inconsistencies. This quality I would say has been very valuable to my role and certain tasks such as onboarding process and data management.

A weakness I have is my strive for perfection can lead me to be overly critical of my work. I occasionally spend more time than necessary on a task to ensure it meets my high standards. However, I have been actively working on finding a balance between achieving quality results and managing my time effectively. I
