-A genuine interest in my students needs, abilities and interests to develop a strong relationship
-I am also someone that likes to share my own stories to provide encouragement and support to help students overcome challenges and reach their goals.

-It helps to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students
-when a teacher is enthusiastic and interested in the material it sparks curiosity and motivation of the students
- When a teacher is enthusiastic about subject it can help to build positive relationship with students and foster a love of learning

What is your current understanding of SEND/EAL?

A

-SEND refers to a range of learning differences and difficulties that affects a students ability to learn and participate in school. Conditions include dyslexia, autism,ADHD, emotional needs. These students require additional support.

-EAL students may face challenges which can impact their ability to learn and participate in the classroom.

A

-Time constraints, classes have a limited amount of time to cover a wide range of topics and techniques.

  • Assessment criteria: The assessment criteria for art can be subjective, which could make it difficult for teachers to accurately assess their students’ work

What policies are important to support a safe environment? Why are these important?

A
  • Safeguarding Policy= procedures that should be followed if safeguarding concern is raised
  • Health and Safety Policy= includes measures such as risk assessments, fire safety procedures, and first aid arrangements
  • Behaviour Policy= school’s approach to managing behaviour, expectations for student behaviour, and consequences for breaking rules.
  • Anti-Bullying Policy= approach to preventing and managing bullying. providing support to victims, educating students on the effects of bullying, and taking action to address incidents of bullying
  • Data Protection Policy= school’s approach to protecting personal data and ensuring it is handled in accordance with data protection laws.
  • Online Safety Policy= school’s approach to protecting students from online risks such as cyberbullying, inappropriate content, and online predators
  • Equality and Diversity Policy= school’s approach to promoting equality and diversity, and addressing discrimination and harassment

By having these policies in place, schools can create a safe and supportive environment for students to learn and grow.

Try to understand the reason for their refusal: Speak to the student privately and try to understand why they are not participating. it could be a lack of interest in the topic, shyness, anxiety, or other personal reasons
